History
The
South Windsor Teambuilding and Leadership Center was created as a
cooperative effort between several town departments with similar goals.
These departments include South Windsor Recreation, Human Services,
Public Schools, Police Services and the Parks and Grounds Division.
This collaboration was formed in February of 2002 for the purpose of
developing leadership and teambuilding programs that would be available
to the entire South Windsor community. Funding for the Ropes Course
construction and program development was made possible through grants,
various fundraisers and the Recreation Department’s Special Revenue Fund
Capital Budget. The purpose of the program is to develop leadership
skills, enhance decision making, promote critical thinking and reinforce
pro-social values as embodied in the town of South Windsor’s CARE
Initiative. These values include kindness, acceptance, personal
responsibility and respect for others.
