Why
Leadership &
Teambuilding?
A teambuilding and leadership program
is based on a series of challenges and tasks designed to encourage
cooperation, trust, communication, self confidence and the ability to
work with others to achieve mutual goals. The program begins with a
collection of games and initiative activities that will introduce the
group to many of the basic skills required to solve problems or achieve
goals. Following each activity or event, the group will undergo a
“debriefing” where these skills may be identified and the group shares
ideas and insights prior to moving on to the next level of challenges.
A ropes course, which is often
referred to as a challenge or confidence course, is a group of
structures developed into what are known as elements. These elements can
be low, (ground level) or high, (30 or more feet above the ground). The
purpose of each element is to provide groups with a new
and different
challenge in which many of their previously identified skills can be
utilized. Beginning with the low elements, a group takes on a series of
unique challenges which further develops their skills. As the
challenges become increasingly difficult, the groups skills improve.
The debriefing that will follow each challenge allows the members of the
group to process their experience on each element, offer insights into
their thoughts and allows for a transfer of new knowledge back to their
own workplace or group environment. With this training participants will
be a more cohesive, functional team in any setting.
